Santiago Parra-Whitehead
FUTURE PROOF TEAM MEMBER
Hi there, my name is Santi, I’m a 21-year-old Honours student at the University of Strathclyde, and I’m delighted to be rejoining SYFF for their latest project: The ‘Future Proof’ Newsroom!Â
Â
I’m involved in this project as I’m passionate about politics and the media, and I’m always looking for opportunities to learn and grow. Whilst studying Politics and Journalism at university, I became fascinated by how perceptions of politics and the media are shifting. I was particularly interested in exploring ways of alleviating misinformation’s destructive repurcussions. However, most of my research into this matter had more of a global reach, and I’d be thrilled to have the chance to delve deeper into how these trends affect the country I live in and love, and what they mean for the upcoming election.Â
Â
I’m also a staunch believer in work SYFF does. As someone who is neurodivergent, I’m proud to working with SYFF: An organisation who educates, elevates, breaks down barriers, and ensures that the media industry is an open, accessible place for everyone.Â
